Yes to self-gifting

Yes to self-gifting

So..you ready for the holidays?

To those who celebrated Hanukkah, I hope it was a beautiful time with those you love.

In my household, my husband and I have a tradition where we write down a small note of reflection on the inside of the box that holds our Christmas decorations. Literally, I couldn’t believe we were lugging the decor out of the basement a few weeks ago (yes, I’m a November decorator - don’t mind if I do).

Didn’t we just put everything away?

2021.

I mean, what else was there to scribble but “we survived another year of COVID”

And as we did, well - let me speak for myself… and as I did, I said goodbye to a toxic friendship, reaffirmed my views on key societal issues, accepted that my beloved pup of 20 years is now at rest, set some solid boundaries that are non-negotiable, gained clarity on my purpose, took a bold chance (hello Ibiza) and, firmly put my health and well-being first.

My friend Zak (hi Zak!) reminded me today of the single most important gift we can give; a gift to ourselves.

Patience.

Self-compassion.

Self-belief.

Health.

Encouragement.

Hope.

I could go on. And you likely have a ton to add to the list too.

The only constant we have is that time is ticking - whatever is important to you, the values you stand for, who you want to be - make it happen for yourself.

I put a gift under the tree for myself - as you see in the photo above.

What’s wrapped up?

I don’t know - I’ve promised myself I would keep it a secret but I think I’ll love it. I picked it out for myself after all 😜.

What’s one thing you’ll give to yourself this holiday season? For 2022?

I’d love to hear from you.

Send me a note!

Have a lovely December.

Elena

So. What should we do about 2022?
